ABLE Education is an outreach service offering supplementary and part-time alternative provision to young people on an exclusively one-to-one basis. Our individualised learning programmes deliver fully personalised sessions for our learners, both in relation to content and location. Sessions can take place at a variety of venues across Nottingham city and county, or online. We work in schools, homes and community venues in accordance with where is best suited to the learner.

We welcome young people who are disengaged from mainstream education for a diverse range of reasons, including temporary or permanent exclusion; being at risk of permanent exclusion; school refusal; being known to a youth offending team; social, emotional and mental health (SEMH), medical needs and other special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We also deliver supplementary education to vulnerable and disadvantaged students, such as children in care (CIC).

Tuition is delivered by fully qualified teachers that hold QTS (qualified teacher status) and tutors with alternative provision experience. They develop personalised schemes of learning for each student, weaving in content that relates to their interests and contributes to building positive relationships. Where possible, we will follow the child’s home school curriculum in order to support their eventual reintegration into a mainstream or full-time alternative provision setting.
